DREMO OF DAVIDO’S DMW COPIES LYRICS OF MBK RECORD’S OC GREEN’S SHAKOR IN HIS LATEST SONG “DAPADA”
In recent news, it has been confirmed that Dremo of DMW copied lyrics of MBK Record’s recording artiste, OC Green.
The CEO of MBK Productions has released a statement criticizing the act. He stated that the first line of the song was copied from his artiste’s “Shakor” which was released months before Dapada was released. The lyrics in question reads thus in Shakor: “how many years e go take you to know me.” There is however a slight change in dapada where the first line of the song reads: “How many years e go take till you know.” According to the CEO of MBK Records, Dremo did not only copy the lines but also used the same tone and rhythm in saying the lines in his song.
He further advised the artiste to spend time training rather than subjecting himself to such demeaning acts of cheap music composition and creation.
Also, OC Green has confirmed the copyright breach in a statement earlier today. He stated his disappointment in Dremo for the act, stating that it was cheap and unbecoming of a musician.
He further stated that upon the release of his song SHAKOR, he made a post on instagram and tagged Davido amongst other artistes and at such the music should have reached them.
